Before starting, make sure you have the following ingredients: Chicken pieces (legs, breasts, wings) Flour Eggs Bread crumbs (Panko works best) Salt, pepper, and seasonings Oil for frying
Start by washing and patting dry your chicken pieces. Trim any excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, and your favorite spices, ensuring the chicken is well-coated.
Create three separate bowls for the breading process: First bowl: Flour Second bowl: Beaten eggs Third bowl: Bread crumbs (season with a little salt and pepper for flavor).
Dip each chicken piece in the flour first, coating it lightly. Then, dip it in the egg wash, letting any excess drip off. Finally, coat the chicken with breadcrumbs, pressing gently to ensure they stick.
In a deep pan or skillet, heat enough oil to fully submerge the chicken pieces. Heat the oil to 350°F (175°C). A thermometer is helpful to make sure it’s the right temperature for frying.
Carefully add the breaded chicken pieces into the hot oil. Avoid overcrowding the pan to ensure each piece fries evenly. Fry the chicken for about 10-15 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
Once the chicken is fried to perfection, remove it from the oil and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes.
Your crispy crumb-fried chicken is ready! Serve it with your favorite sides like mashed potatoes, coleslaw, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
