How to Remove Dip Top Nails Without Damaging Your Natural Nail

Removing dip top nails without damaging your natural nails requires patience and proper technique to prevent peeling, thinning, or weakening.

Start by gently filing the topcoat with a coarse nail file to break the seal and allow the acetone to penetrate the layers.

Next, soak a cotton ball in pure acetone, place it over the nail, and wrap each fingertip with aluminum foil to keep the acetone in contact with the dip powder.

After soaking, gently push off the softened dip powder using a cuticle pusher or orangewood stick, ensuring you do not scrape too forcefully, as this can weaken the nail bed.

If any residue remains, reapply the acetone-soaked cotton and let it sit for a few more minutes rather than forcefully removing it.

Once the dip powder is completely gone, wash your hands thoroughly and apply a nourishing cuticle oil and hand cream to replenish moisture.

If your nails feel weak, consider using a strengthening base coat or a nail-hardening treatment to restore their health.

Avoid picking or peeling the dip powder, as this can strip layers from your natural nails, leading to breakage.
