Is Kenny Pickett the Future of the Pittsburgh Steelers?

Kenny Pickett's future as the Pittsburgh Steelers' franchise quarterback remains uncertain, but there are reasons for both optimism and concern.

Drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Pickett was expected to be the heir to Ben Roethlisberger, bringing stability to the position.

While he has shown flashes of potential with clutch performances and mobility, his overall development has been inconsistent, raising doubts about his ceiling.

Injuries, a struggling offensive line, and a lack of dynamic play-calling have hindered his progress, making it difficult to evaluate his true potential.

However, his leadership, work ethic, and ability to perform in critical moments suggest he has the intangibles necessary to succeed.

The Steelers' front office must decide whether to continue building around him or explore other options, either through the draft or free agency.

If Pickett can improve his accuracy, decision-making, and pocket presence while being supported by a stronger offensive scheme, he could solidify himself as the long-term answer.

The 2024 season will likely be pivotal in determining whether Pickett can be the franchise quarterback the Steelers need or if a change is necessary.
