Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip Cookies with a Sweet Jam Surprise.

Start by making a classic peanut butter cookie dough. Combine creamy peanut butter, sugar (both white and brown for sweetness and chewiness), butter, egg, and baking soda.

Mix in semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips to the peanut butter cookie dough. The chocolate adds richness and a delightful contrast to the salty-sweet peanut butter flavor. You can also use dark chocolate chips for a more intense chocolate taste.

For the sweet jam surprise, choose your favorite fruit jam or jelly. Strawberry, raspberry, or blueberry jams work particularly well, but feel free to experiment with other flavors. The jam will be hidden in the center of each cookie, offering a burst of sweetness with every bite.

Roll the cookie dough into small 1-inch balls. Then, using your thumb or a spoon, create an indentation in the center of each dough ball to form a small well. Fill this well with about 1 teaspoon of your chosen jam

Once the jam is added, gently pinch the sides of the dough ball together to seal the jam inside. Be careful not to over-handle the dough to maintain its texture. You can also roll the filled dough ball in a little extra sugar for a slight sugary crunch.

Place the filled cookie dough balls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. The cookies will spread slightly and puff up while baking.

Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a couple of minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. As they cool, the jam inside will set slightly, creating a soft, gooey center that’s perfectly complemented by the peanut butter and chocolate exterior.
