U.S. Mint Announces Designs for 2025 American Women Quarters Program Coins.
The American Women Quarters Program is part of an ongoing initiative to honor the achievements and contributions of women in U.S. history.
Each coin in the series features the image of a groundbreaking woman, highlighting their impact on society.
The 2025 quarter series will focus on five women who made significant contributions in diverse fields, such as civil rights, medicine, education, and the arts.
Ruth Asawa – An influential sculptor known for her intricate wire sculptures and public art, she made significant contributions to the arts.
Each quarter in the 2025 series will feature a unique reverse design that represents each woman’s legacy. The coins will showcase artwork that reflects the person’s accomplishments and their role in advancing American ideals.
The designs were developed by U.S. Mint engravers and selected through a process involving consultations with the Citizens Coinage Advisory Committee (CCAC) and the Commission of Fine Arts (CFA).
The obverse of the 2025 quarters will maintain the traditional portrait of George Washington, which has appeared on the quarter since 1932. This consistent feature provides a unified look to the series across all years of the program.
The American Women Quarters Program is part of a broader effort to increase diversity in U.S. coinage, providing recognition to women who helped shape the nation.
