Wholesome Delights: Easy and Healthy Waffle Recipe.

Waffles are a classic breakfast treat, but they don’t have to be loaded with sugar and refined flour to be delicious. This easy and healthy waffle recipe uses whole grains, natural sweeteners, and nutrient-packed ingredients to create a satisfying breakfast or brunch option that’s light, fluffy, and full of flavor.

– 1 cup whole wheat flour – 1/2 cup oat flour (or more whole wheat flour) – 2 teaspoons baking powder – 1/4 teaspoon salt – 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

– 1 large egg – 1 cup unsweetened almond milk (or any milk of choice) – 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract – 2 tablespoons coconut oil (melted) or avocado oil – Optional: 1/4 cup flaxseed meal or chia seeds for added fiber

Preheat Your Waffle Iron Set your waffle iron to medium heat while you prepare the batter. This ensures it’s hot and ready for the batter.

Mix Dry Ingredients In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the whole wheat flour, oat flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. If you’re adding flaxseed meal or chia seeds, mix them in here as well.

Combine Wet Ingredients In another bowl, beat the egg and then add the almond milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and melted coconut oil. Mix until everything is well incorporated.

Make the Batter Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the waffles dense.

Cook the Waffles Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray or a small amount of oil. Pour the batter onto the waffle iron according to your appliance’s instructions. Cook for 3-5 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.

Serve and Enjoy Serve your waffles warm, topped with fresh fruit, a drizzle of honey, or a spoonful of Greek yogurt for extra protein. You can also add a sprinkle of nuts or seeds for crunch.
